About Keith Weber

Biography of Keith Weber:

This site is where I post my portfolio of my art pieces to the public just to show who I am as an artist. I was born in Okinawa, Japan on April 24, 1990. I lived oversees in the Pacific my entire life. I'm a Filipino American who grew up in a military family and we were stationed out of the United States for so very long. I was first born in Japan, then my family moved to South Korea and we were stationed there for twelve years. Then on 2007 I moved back to Japan to graduate high school and get my associates degree there. I'm currently an art student in the Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Art.

Coming to the school was a big thing for me because living in the military life oversees, there was no room for art or cartooning. I wanted to live the rest of my life in the United States because this is where I belong. I came to this school for a reason; I want to not only get paid to draw, but also tell the stories that I always wanted to tell through my art since I was in elementary. I've always wanted to be a cartoonist since I first watched the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. I first wanted to be come an animator/animation director, but since everything is all CGI and flash animation, it all looked like computer programs and less like art to me. I didn't want to complicate myself trying to program images to make animation so I decided to work on graphic novels and comic books. Not only that, but I really want to learn everything about being a commercial artist by learning every tool, every rule, various styles, and every thing on how to make a drawing look good. Outside of animation, I wanted to try and get into other fields like comic strips, comic books, and graphic novels. My biggest inspirations are Craig Thompson, Will Eisner, Charles Schulz, Jeff Smith, Fiona Staples, Charles Burns, Marjane Satrapi, Todd McFarlane, and Joe Kubert.

This school has taught me how to ink, be proportionate, imaginative, in perspective, and how to stay professional. My dream jobs would be working for Vertigo Comics, Image Comics, Dark Horse, or Archie Comics. But overall I really want to make my own stories on creating a lot of graphic novels and graphic novel series that's in the space opera, horror, fantasy, epics, & romantic genre and personal stories. But before attempting to take on this field I had to learn as much as I can from the Kubert School as they offer classes in this field that no other school or college offers.

Though I do have other passions and hobbies (like video games, movies, and traveling), it has always been my dream to draw and I try my best to take on any kind of composition and turn it to the best piece that I can possibly make. What keeps me going is positive feedback, learning from professionals, and getting in touch with those who are willing to pay me to draw. Though I've been all over the world, my biggest adventures is at my desk, drawing. Making a drawing and spent hours on a piece is the most exciting part of my life and I would not want it any other way! In fact, I can't imagine myself doing anything else but to draw and try to impress people.
